The Coach House Ministry

Through mentorship and education, Flourish’s Coach House Ministry helps women experience Christ, establish sobriety, gain job skills, heal relationships, and build community in order to live independently.

Our 9 to 12 month program helps participants develop individualized growth plans. By providing mentors, continued support, housing, and educational opportunities, women are able to move from a life of dysfunction and dependency to a healthy and self-sufficient lifestyle. Often women entering the program are transitioning from institutional and treatment settings, or are unsheltered (or soon to be).

Flourish operates two homes in Springfield. We can house up to six women at a time.

Women In this Program Will
• Be Provided a Safe Home
• Learn Financial Budgeting Skills
• Develop Successful Problem Solving, Social and Coping Skills
• Be Paired with a Supportive and Caring Mentor
• Move from a life of dysfunction and dependency to a life that is healthy, hopeful and healed

Become a Mentor or Volunteer
Most of the women who enter the Coach House program have not experienced a positive support system. Flourish helps change this by providing women and mentors who can support, sound counsel and hold participants accountable in a caring way.

Each Coach House Program participant is paired with a Mentor. The Mentor works with the participant to develop a personal growth plan, engaging with participants for an hour each week.

We ask individuals interested in mentoring to commit to being in a relationship with a program participant for the length of time time they are in the program and behind – making this a a 12 to 15-month volunteer service opportunity.

A key part of the Coach House Ministry is mentorship. Each Coach House  participant is paired with a Mentor. Mentors work with participants to develop a personal growth plan, and engage with participants for at least one hour per week.

We request that all mentors commit to being in a relationship with a program participant for the length of time they are in the program and beyond. This is a  12 to 15-month volunteer service opportunity – rooted in relationship.

If you are looking for a shorter commitment, there are opportunities to teach short-term classes and Bible studies and prepare/decorate our Coach House homes.

If you’d like to volunteer as part of the Coach House Ministry, please contact Donna Roberts at droberts@schweitzer.church or call 417-881-6800.
