Serve Opportunity: March 28 Neighborhood Clean Up

Each year the city of Springfield sponsors a “clean-up” day for each neighborhood. Flourish will be participating in the one for the Heart of the Westside. Our role is to either help neighborhood residents who bring their items to the dumpster or go door to door and collect items from those who are unable to transport the items there. It is amazing the difference it makes in these people’s lives to rid themselves of this clutter.

The program is intended to reduce neighborhood clutter, nuisances and create a renewed sense of pride by providing dumpsters for neighborhood residents to dispose of items not typically allowed in routine trash disposal.

Want to Serve: Come out and join the Flourish team on Tuesday, March 28 from 8 am to 2:30 pm at Nichols Park (rain or shine)

 – Work clothes and gloves (you will be handling bags of trash)

 – Pick-up trucks or small trailers are needed for those who do not have the ability to bring their trash to the dumpster.

This is a great way for us to help the neighborhood and for Flourish to get to meet some of the residents.
